I spoke too soon about the joy of work. My office is not reorganizing as expected — at least, not yet. It’s letting people go.
Thursday, the boss met with staff and announced that 45 of them had to go — hopefully through buyouts, but possibly through layoffs.
Unlike many of my colleagues, I have had the misfortune of going through a round of really horrible layoffs in my life. Thus, I know what the next few weeks are probably going to be like. This is going to be a hard time.
