How I spent my Thanksgiving vacation

So, on this Thanksgiving weekend, I:

–Baked a sweet potato pie and two loaves of banana nut bread, and also made green bean casserole, grilled the best steak I’ve had in months along with a couple of burgers, and smoked a turkey breast and two racks of ribs.

–Played a Wednesday night gig and used a MXR Carbon Copy delay for the first time (I found one cheap on Craigslist). I haven’t quite dialed it in yet but it is a true analog delay, unlike my Danelectro DanEcho (which is a digital delay that simulates an analog delay). My initial reaction to using this in a gig environment is very positive, although it’s harder to control my rig’s volume with the MXR (for now). The pedal is also much smaller and obviously better-built than the DanEcho.

–Unclogged the bathroom sink. That required me to remove the elbow to clear it and also snake out another hair clog. It was disgusting. I think plumbers earn every dime they charge.

–Watched a bunch of movies. I’ve started using Vudu instead of the native FiOS offering for movie rental. The Vudu quality is noticeably better, the library is vast and I like it a lot. I’ve also been catching up on Archer episodes on Netflix.
